SetupMounting Your Device in Your CarThe device needs to be mounted securely such that it can received a strong GPS signal. It is important for the device to not shake, so if you use a flexible mount or one that uses a long arm, be sure to have the mount touch the dashboard to keep it from shaking. Below are some suggested iPhone car mounts: You may also try some low cost mounting alternatives, such as: Positioning Your DeviceThe device may be positioned vertically or horizontally and at an angle vertically. It should also be reasonably level horizontally and not angled left or right (it should face toward the back of the car). Below are examples of good mounting positions. The device positioning is not critical; "eye ball" accurate is fine. Horizontal and Level
Vertical and Level
Facing the Rear
Tilted Up or Down
Caibrating Your DeviceWhenever the device mounting position is changed, simply double-tap the car, driver or any part of the Smoothness Meter to re-level the device. The Car & Driver in the meter should be in the center of the Smoothnes Meter.
The car needs to be on a level surface to achieve an accurate calibration. The device can be recalibrated anytime the car is stopped.
